Between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean that crosses the Isthmus of Panama is one of the wonders of the modern world, one of the greatest achievements of engineering in history that has changed the dynamics of global logistics: The Panama Canal.
Its origin dates back to the sixteenth century when the visionary monarchs Carlos I of Spain, and Carlos V of Germany in 1534 signed a decree that led to the first study for the construction of a route between both oceans, after the explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa two decades before crossing the Isthmus, and noticing the short distance that separated the Atlantic from the Pacific.
More than three centuries later, the United States, and France, following the California gold rush; retook the idea. France lasted almost 20 years from 1880 in its attempt to build the Canal, but after many failures and obstacles sold the construction rights to the United States, which managed to successfully complete the construction of this technological marvel that unites both oceans in just 10 years.
Under the Hay-Burnau-Varilla Treaty of 1903, after the separation of Panama, and Colombia; the United States obtained perpetual rights over the Canal. Later, after the 1977 agreements of Torrijos-Carter, it was established that Panama would assume control from December 31, 1999. As of this date, the Canal is in full sovereignty of Panama, a country that proceeded to expand it in 2014.
The Panama Canal has more than a century since it began operations, and through it passes more than 6% of the world's maritime trade. This 80Km interoceanic navigation route that redefined global trade routes has had a positive impact on the global economy.
Large ships with the length of more than three soccer fields cross through their 1,400-foot-long locks, which is enough space to place the Empire State Building of New York, United States.
On average, 5.9 ships transit the Canal per day, passing mainly vessels that go from China, Japan, and South Korea to the east coast of North América or from South America to Europe.

Posteriormente tras los acuerdos de 1977 de Torrijos-Carter se estableció que Panamá asumiría el control desde el 31 de diciembre de 1999. A partir de esta fecha el Canal se encuentra en soberanía plena de Panamá, país que procedió a ampliarlo en el 2014.
El Canal de Panamá tiene más de un siglo desde que inició sus operaciones y a través de él pasa más del 6% del comercio marítimo del mundo. Esta ruta de navegación interoceánica de 80Km que al ser ampliado redefinió las rutas de comercio global ha ejercido un impacto positivo en la economía a nivel mundial.
Grandes buques con la longitud de hasta más de tres campos de fútbol cruzan a través de sus esclusas de 1,400 pies de longitud, lo cual es suficiente espacio para colocar el Empire State Building, de Nueva York, Estados Unidos.
En promedio 5,9 buques transitan el Canal por día, pasan principalmente embarcaciones que van desde China, Japón, y Corea del Sur a la costa este de América del Norte o de América del Sur a Europa.

A “ghost ship” that sank in Lake Michigan nearly 140 years ago and eluded several search efforts over the past five decades has been found, according to researchers with the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association.
The wooden schooner got caught in a storm in the dead of night and went down in September 1886. In the weeks after, a lighthouse keeper reported the ship’s masts breaking the lake surface, and fishermen caught pieces of the vessel in their nets. Still, wreck hunters were unable to track down the ship’s location — until now.

Earlier this year, a team of researchers with the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association and Wisconsin Historical Society located the shipwreck off the coastal town of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin, the association announced on Sunday.
Named the F.J. King, the ship had become a legend within the Wisconsin wreck hunter community for its elusive nature, said maritime historian Brendon Baillod, principal investigator and project lead of the discovery.
“We really wanted to solve this mystery, and we didn’t expect to,” Baillod told CNN. “(The ship) seemed to have just vanished into thin air. … I actually couldn’t believe we found it.”
The wreck is just one of many that have been found in the Great Lakes in recent years, and there are still hundreds left to be recovered in Lake Michigan alone, according to Baillod.
The ‘ghost ship’
Built in 1867, the F.J. King plied the waters of the Great Lakes for the purpose of trans-lake commerce. The ship transported grains during a time when Wisconsin served as the breadbasket of the United States. The 144-foot-long (44-meter) vessel also carried cargo including iron ore, lumber and more.
The ship had a lucrative 19-year career until that September night when a gale-force wind caused its seams to break apart, according to the announcement. The captain, William Griffin, ordered the crew to evacuate on the ship’s yawl boat, from where they watched the F.J. King sink, bow first.

Роман Василенко: «Жилищные кооперативы способствуют развитию российских регионов»
Жилищные кооперативы в России помнят со времен СССР.
Многим советским гражданам объединения пайщиков помогли перебраться из густонаселенных коммуналок в отдельные благоустроенные квартиры. Роман Василенко считает, что сегодня потребительская кооперация — один из немногих способов избежать ипотеки и приобрести квартиру с минимальной переплатой.
Кооперативы — проверенное средство покупки жилья
«Бест Вей» — один из самых успешных проектов Романа Василенко. Жилищный кооператив с необычным названием появился в 2014 году. Созданию некоммерческого объединения пайщиков предшествовала тщательная работа юридического отдела компании, который изучал многолетнюю историю кооперации в нашей стране. Бизнесмен стремился создать организацию, которая бы отвечала потребностям людей и действовала в полном соответствии с законодательством Российской Федерации.
Не секрет, что жилищный вопрос — одна из главных российских проблем. Молодежь вынуждена либо жить с родителями, либо тратить солидную часть своего дохода на аренду квартиры. После рождения детей семья стремится приобрести собственную жилплощадь, но ипотека доступна далеко не всем. Уровень зарплат в российских регионах невысокий, поэтому молодежь решает проблему радикальными способами: переезжает в мегаполисы или покидает страну.
Жилищная кооперация дает возможность приобрести квартиру с минимальными вложениями. В СССР первые объединения пайщиков появились в 1920-е годы, но бурное развитие ЖСК пережили уже в послевоенное время. Вступить в кооператив имели право только те граждане, которые жили в стесненных условиях. Кроме того, требовалось иметь определенный уровень дохода или сбережения на первый взнос. На средства пайщиков возводили дом, а примерно треть стоимости строительства погашалось за счет государства.
Модель успешно работает в других странах. В кондоминиумы вступают малообеспеченные граждане, которые не могут себе позволить единовременно купить жилье. Строительство ведется за счет кредитных средств, которые гасят члены объединения. В результате люди получают квартиры по низкой цене, а затем платят взносы долгие годы. В большинстве стран такое жилье нельзя продавать или сдавать в аренду в течение 20–25 лет, к тому же необходимое условие для кандидата — постоянная регистрация в населенном пункте.
Как работает «Бест Вей»
Жилищный кооператив «Бест Вей» Романа Василенко работает по простой и прозрачной схеме. Пайщикам не нужно иметь безупречную кредитную историю или подтверждать доход. В объединение могут вступить все: студенты, молодые специалисты, пенсионеры и люди с ограниченными возможностями здоровья. Кроме того, кооперация помогает приобрести жилье тем, кто хорошо зарабатывает, но не может официально подтвердить свой доход. Как правило, у таких категорий населения мало шансов получить ипотеку в банке.
Одно из важных достоинств кооператива — возможность приобрести недвижимость в разных регионах. Людям не надо покидать родной город, чтобы заработать, причем квартиру они получают с минимальной переплатой. Таким образом, ЖК способствует сохранению трудовых ресурсов в малых населенных пунктах. С другой стороны, при желании сменить место жительство, кооператив дает возможность приобрести жилье в любом другом городе.
Роман Викторович Василенко отмечает, что идея основать «Бест Вей» пришла ему в голову после изучения жилищной ситуации в стране. Предприниматель выяснил, что в России созданы тысячи кооперативов, но у всех одна беда — слишком длинная очередь. Разработать собственную оригинальную модель помогло блестящее образование. Предприниматель окончил Ярославское высшее военное финансовое училище, а после выхода в запас получил степень МВА во Франции.
В биографии Романа Василенко — многолетний опыт работы в финансовом консалтинге, что сыграло роль в реализации проекта. Бизнесмену удалось создать простую, но эффективную схему работы «Бест Вей»:
пайщик вступает в кооператив на основании единственного документа — паспорта;
вносит первый взнос в размере 35% от стоимости жилья, которое он планирует приобрести, либо подключается к накопительной программе;
ожидает своей очереди и в течение года получает квартиру;
гасит оставшиеся 65% стоимости жилья в течение последующих 10 лет.
До полного погашения долга квартира находится в собственности кооператива, однако пайщик имеет полное право в ней проживать, регистрироваться и даже сдавать недвижимость в аренду. После окончательных расчетов жилье переходит в собственность пайщика. У члена кооператива всего две обязанности: регулярно вносить платежи и ежемесячно оплачивать небольшие членские взносы, которые идут на текущие нужды организации.
Преимущество модели заключается в том, что человеку не нужно собирать множество документов, а затем в течение многих лет оплачивать проценты и страховые взносы. В среднем переплата за квартиру стоимостью в 5 млн рублей составляет примерно 480 тысяч рублей, причем сумма на 100% складывается из членских взносов. В случае с ипотекой равноценное жилье обойдется заемщику на 2 млн рублей дороже своей первоначальной стоимости.
Стоит отметить еще одну особенность работы ПК «Бест Вей» — если у пайщика возникают финансовые трудности, он возвращает жилье кооперативу и получает свой пай в полном объеме. Удерживаются только членские взносы. Кооператив защищает интересы пайщиков даже в непредвиденных ситуациях.

За восемь лет работы кооператива в организацию вступило более 19 тысяч человек. Более трех тысяч семей уже въехали в квартиры, а 250 пайщиков полностью погасили стоимость жилья. Финансовые активы кооператива составляют более 10 млрд рублей. Приобрести можно любой объект недвижимости — квартиру в новостройке, вторичное жилье и даже дом в коттеджном поселке. Приток новых членов ускоряет движение очереди.
Законодательные инициативы со стороны государства могут дать толчок развитию кооперативного движения, считает Роман Василенко. Отзывы пайщиков свидетельствуют, что инициатива нашла отклик у российских граждан. Многие собственники отмечают, что кооператив стал для них единственным шансом приобрести жилье, а некоторые вступают в «Бест Вей» повторно, чтобы купить квартиру детям.
Роман Василенко уверен, что потребительская кооперация — проверенный десятилетиями способ сделать жизнь людей лучше. Предприниматель считает, что его проект сможет предотвратить отъезд талантливых специалистов, которые тысячами уезжают за границу в поисках лучшей жизни. Современное, комфортное и благоустроенное жилье станет якорем, который удержит молодежь в регионах, что в итоге будет способствовать экономическому процветанию страны.
